Celebrities who swear by a Vegan Diet
A perfectly balanced diet consists of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. We tend to focus on including a majority of proteins in our diet to stay fit and rely on animal-based sources of protein. A plant-based diet is perceived as insufficient to meet the body’s protein needs.
But is that true? Does a vegetarian diet deprive one of nutrients?
A vegetarian diet has all the essential nutrients which can fulfil your needs effectively. They pose no hurdles to our fitness goals. What better way to validate this than popular Bollywood celebrities whose fitness is the apex of the industry! And the catch; they’re all vegetarian!
From building 6-packs to helping our divas maintain those curves, there’s an increasing trend of vegetarianism among Bollywood and sports celebrities. Although many of them are not completely vegan, they are determined to stick to a vegetarian diet and still stay fit and healthy. Some sportsmen have even acknowledged that switching to a plant-based diet has had a positive impact on their performance too.
So, here are 5 Celebrities who swear by a Vegan Diet:

A Netflix documentary inspired the cricketer to opt for a vegetarian diet and subsequently, a vegan diet. In addition, he mentioned in an interview, “My stomach was too acidic, my body was creating too much uric acid. What was happening was, even though I was taking calcium, magnesium, etc. one tablet was not sufficient for my body to function properly. So, my stomach started pulling calcium from my bones, and my bones got weaker.” That’s when he opted not to consume meat. He has admitted that his switch to his current diet has improved his game.
Accomplished Indian Bollywood actress
The stunning Sri Lankan beauty and one of Bollywood’s most admired female actors, Jacqueline Fernandez, follows a vegan diet. Previously a non-vegetarian, she changed her lifestyle to a more sustainable one when she understood the dangers that a non-vegetarian diet poses to the environment.

As an animal rights activist, she decided veganism was better suited for her lifestyle. While talking to an entertainment portal, Jacqueline said that following a vegan diet makes her feel better. She continued by saying that she now wants to spread this message to everyone.
Indian professional footballer who captains both the Indian Super League side Bengaluru, and the Indian national team, Sunil Chhetri, has also turned vegan. He did it not only for the environment but also for better recovery time, and digestion.
He said his diet kept on improving and he was not as strict 10 years back as he is today.
